The Must-See Event of January

It has become a tradition for any self-respecting cyclist: the year doesn't really begin until after the pilgrimage to Kortrijk. From January 16 to 18, 2026, Kortrijk Xpo will once again be buzzing with the sound of freewheels and electric derailleurs.

Whether you're a commuter looking to replace your car, a competitor in search of watts, or simply curious, Velofollies is the place where everything is decided for the coming season. But be warned, with more than 40,000 visitors expected and hundreds of exhibitors, there's no room for improvisation. At Trackap, we've compiled everything you need to know to make the most of your day (and secure your future favorites).

1. Practical Information: Don't Waste Time in Traffic Jams

Access is often the sticking point at large events. Here's how to avoid logistical pitfalls.

The Train Trick (Special for Cross-Border Commuters)If you're coming from the Lille metropolitan area or northern France, forget about driving. The Lille Flandres–Kortrijk connection is the secret weapon of regular commuters:

  • Travel time: Just 36 minutes, which is often less than it takes to find a parking spot on a Saturday morning.
  • Frequency: Approximately 15 trains per day, offering you complete flexibility.
  • Bonus: A free shuttle bus takes you directly from the train station to the entrance of the Xpo.

If you are coming by car, parking at Kortrijk Xpo is well organized but subject to a fee. Use the official parking lots P2, P6, or P7.

  • Price: Expect to pay between €5 and €7 per day.
  • The pitfall to avoid: Don't park in the adjacent streets! Parking there is paid (even on Sundays) and often more expensive than the show's parking lot.
  • Electric: Charging stations are available in parking lot P4, and Tesla superchargers are located at the exit.

2. What not to miss in 2026

This year, the show confirms three major trends that are reshaping the way we drive.

Gravel is coming of age

Gone arethe days when gravel bikes were just a fad. In 2026, the market is segmented. On one side, you'll find ultra-aerodynamic racing gravel bikes (at Cervélo or Canyon stands), and on the other, steel or titanium adventure gravel bikes designed for bikepacking and capable of handling mountain bike tires.

The e-bike goes "smart"

Electric bikesno longer just assist you; they are becoming smart. The new Bosch and Shimano motors now communicate with your phone to manage battery life and maintenance. This is also the year of family and professional cargo bikes, which are taking up more and more space in bike lanes, proving that bikes are gradually replacing second cars in households.

The quest for weight (and watts)

Onthe road stands (Ridley, Wilier, Eddy Merckx), take a close look at the cockpits: there are no cables sticking out. Everything is fully integrated for improved aerodynamics, while returning to featherweight models close to the regulatory 6.8 kg.

3. Thinking about buying a new bike? Consider its safety features.

It's the Velofollies effect: you arrive to look, and you leave with stars in your eyes and an order form for a bike that sometimes costs as much as a small car.

That's where we come in. Investing $3,000, $5,000, or more in an electric bike or a beautiful carbon bike without thinking about protecting it is taking an unnecessary risk.

  • The observation: Unfortunately, the high-end bikes on display at the show are also prime targets for thieves once they are out on the streets.
  • The Trackap solution: While you compare geometries and drivetrains, keep in mind that a GPS tracker is the must-have accessory for 2026. Our trackers are compatible with most of the motors you'll see at the show (Bosch, Yamaha, Shimano, Bafang) and can be integrated invisibly.
  • Why it's vital: Beyond geolocation, it ensures you can stay constantly connected to your investment via your smartphone.

4. Pro tips for your visit

If you can, try to go on Friday, January 16, especially at the end of the day (the show stays open until 8:00 p.m.). This is the "golden" moment when the aisles empty out a bit, giving you free rein to test bikes on the test track or have a real chat with the brand technicians without having to elbow your way through the crowd.

Come to Kortrijk to celebrate cycling in all its forms! And if you fall in love with the bike of your dreams, remember: the best bike is the one you keep for a long time.

The Importance of Regular Review and Adjustments

Investing is not a "set it and forget it" endeavor. Regularly review your portfolio to ensure it aligns with your financial goals.  Adjustments may be necessary based on changes in your objectives, market conditions, or the performance of individual investments.
